This policy explains what GiveToAfrica ("we") collects when you use this website, give, or contact us, and what we do with it. We collect only what we need, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it.
What we collect
- When you give: your name, email, country, the amount, currency, cause and payment method, and optionally your employer and a message.
- When you fill in a form (volunteer, contact, company giving, newsletter): the details you enter.
- Payment details such as wallet addresses are handled on our payment processor's pages and never reach our servers.
Why we use it
- To process your gift and send your receipt.
- To send the field reports on the causes you support.
- To reply to your message or application.
- To help your employer match your gift, if you told us who they are.
- To keep the financial records the law requires of a nonprofit.
Your name on the site
We show your first name, last initial and country on the site only if you tick "show my name" when you give. Otherwise your gift appears as "A donor". Amounts are shown; email addresses never are.
Who we share it with
Only the services that make giving work, each under their own privacy terms:
- Our payment processor: NOWPayments (cryptocurrency).
- Our email provider, to send receipts and reports.
- Our website host.
We share information with authorities only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Gift records are kept for seven years, as tax and charity law requires. Form submissions are deleted after two years unless you are still in touch with us.
Cookies
The public site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. Payment processors may set their own cookies on their pages during checkout.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or unsubscribe from reports at any time. Write to info@givetoafrica.net and we will respond within 30 days.
